Di kalangan YouTuber maupun streamer gaming, belakangan tengah ramai dimainkan game viral berjudul Only Up. Tidak sedikit mereka menghabiskan waktu berjam-jam untuk menyelesaikannya, atau malah melakukan rage quit saking sulitnya.
Game petualangan ini punya cara main yang sederhana. Pemain akan menjadi seorang anak laki-laki, yang harus berlari dan melompat melewati berbagai rintangan dan obyek-obyek melayang, untuk menuju ke angkasa.
Yang bikin sulit, saat pemain jatuh dari ketinggian, dia mungkin akan kembali ke tempat yang jauh, atau bukan tidak mungkin, sampai ke dasar atau mengulang dari awal permainan.
Selain itu, pemain juga tidak akan mendapatkan kesempatan untuk menyimpan progres permainan, karena Only Up memang tidak punya save points.
SKCR Games, developer dan publisher, menulis di deskripsi laman Steam, bahwa game ini terinspirasi dari dongeng “Jack and the Beanstalk”, serta beberapa game platformer.
“Kamu akan mengikuti jalur mitologis yang sama dengan Jack untuk mencapai sesuatu yang lebih dari sekadar mendaki ke puncak,” tulis pengembang Only Up, dikutip Sabtu (1/7/2023).
“Perlu dicatat gim ini tidak punya save points – intinya adalah setiap level berikutnya menaikkan taruhan dalam gim, semakin tinggi Anda mendaki, semakin menyakitkan untuk jatuh … tapi siapa yang tidak jatuh, dia tidak bangkit.”
Meski tanpa save point, pemain Only Up masih bisa mengaktifkan fitur memperlambat waktu dan mengubah kecepatan, untuk membantu memperhitungkan langkah atau lompatan. Terdapat juga ratusan easter eggs di game ini.
Only Up rilis untuk PC melalui platform Steam dan bisa dibeli dengan harga Rp Rp 90.999.
